Who we are

Ruyaf is an independent app. “We” and “us” in these terms mean the maker of Ruyaf. “You” means the person using Ruyaf.

Your license

When you buy Ruyaf, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it on any computer you own or use, for personal or work purposes. A license belongs to one person. Other people who use Ruyaf need their own.

The license is a one-time purchase. It does not expire, and there is no subscription. It includes every update within the major version you bought, for example every 1.x release. A future major version may be a paid upgrade. Your existing version keeps working either way.

You may not:

• share, publish, or resell your license key;
• remove or work around the license check;
• copy, modify, or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it regardless of these terms.

Ruyaf includes open-source components and face models that come with their own licenses. Their notices ship inside the app.

Purchases and refunds

Orders are processed by our payment provider, which acts as the reseller and is named on your receipt. Its checkout terms also apply to your purchase. Prices, taxes, and currency are shown at checkout.

If Ruyaf doesn’t work well for you, email us within 14 days of your purchase and we’ll refund it in full. No explanation needed. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under consumer law where you live.

Your photos and the people in them

Your photos and everything Ruyaf creates from them stay on your computer. You keep all rights to them, and we never receive them.

Ruyaf detects and groups faces, which some laws treat as biometric data. You are responsible for using it only on photos you have the right to use, and in line with the laws that apply to you. Don’t use Ruyaf to identify strangers, watch or track people, or harass anyone. If you use it for work, such as on clients’ photos, data protection rules may require you to tell people or get their consent.

Accuracy

Face grouping is automatic and can be wrong. Ruyaf can miss faces, put two people in one group, or split one person into several. Photo dates and places come from the files and can be missing or wrong too. Don’t use Ruyaf to make decisions that depend on identifying someone correctly.

Keep your own backups

Ruyaf reads your originals and does not change them. Still, keep backups of your photos. The catalog, names, and albums you build live on your computer and can be lost with it, so back those up too.

Updates and support

We fix problems and release updates as we can, and we answer support email as well as we can. Ruyaf looks for updates only if you turn on Check for updates in Settings. We can’t promise that Ruyaf will support every future system version, every drive or network share, or every photo file.

No warranty

To the extent the law allows, Ruyaf and this website are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and freedom from errors.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, photos, or profits. Our total liability for any claim about Ruyaf is limited to the amount you paid for it. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Ending the license

You can stop using Ruyaf at any time. If you break these terms, your license ends and you must stop using the app. The sections on your photos, accuracy, warranty, and liability still apply after that.

This website

The demo photos on this site come from Unsplash and are used under the Unsplash License. The names shown with them are made up and don’t describe the people photographed. Links to other sites, such as download hosts, are there for convenience; we aren’t responsible for their content. Our privacy policy explains what this site and the app collect.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Changes never take away rights from a license you have already bought.
